The Red Lion, Earlston

Dating back to the early 1800s, the Red Lion, a former Coaching Inn, sits in the centre of Earlston, in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Located 30 miles south of Edinburgh, Earlston is a convenient base for exploring the Scottish Borders.

Offering a traditional bar menu the Red Lion lunches between 12 noon and 2pm and dinner between 6pm and 9pm on weekdays. Food is available 9am to 9pm on Saturdays and 9am to 9pm on Sundays. Family friendly, we have a children's menu, colouring pens, puzzles and books to keep your little ones entertained. We source much of our food from local suppliers; all our meat is reared within 30 miles of our butcher, Shaws Fine Meats of Lauder. It's not unusual to have veg from the village, especially in the autumn!

Seven cosy and well appointed rooms all with own private bathroom with a large shower or bath adjoining the bedroom. Toiletries, a flat screen Freeview TV free fibre optic wifi and tea/coffee making facilities are all provided. Our large Room 3 is an ideal family room. Room rates are on a B&B basis - evening meals are available from our bar menu.
